The exhibition explores interdisciplinary artist David Chan's 50-year odyssey in contemporary calligraphy, cinematic storyboards, and pandemic-born "Ice Paintings" at this immersive solo exhibition. Probing the essence of "knowing," it unfolds through three axes: self-reflection ("Does David Chan know himself?"), audience inquiry ("Do you know David Chan?"), and mutual empathy ("Do we truly know each other?").
Inspired by Fitzsimons and Anderson's relational epistemology, Chan's non-linear narratives foster shared knowledge structures. Echoing Daoist formlessness and Xu Fuguan's vitalism, blank strokes morph into frozen frames and melting inks, blurring life, time, and nature. Interactive workshops, lectures, and tours invite co-creation, transforming viewing into endless dialogue on empathy and flux.
